You know some small part of me think that maybe I should not have said anything about not wanting another cold this year to anyone. Because yes, here we are again, Freja is the snottiest toddler in this part of London. (Insert big rant about parents bringing their ill children to playgroups here with some accompanying swearing.)
However, before this tired grumpy gloom settled in on me I did do my very best to create some “it’s December and almost Christmas spirit” with this bauble wreath. James calls it very over the top, actually when he first saw it he thought it was absolutely bonkers. And I suppose it is, at least very over the top. But bauble wreaths are by their very nature a little over the top right? The idea was actually stolen from Tyg och Otyg, see her ornament wreaths here, but there’s plenty of them all over the internet. To make mine I had to get a base, but if I could i.e. I had a garden that could provide me with some base material I would have made the base myself too. After that I raided the local charity shops for baubles and really, there’s loads and loads out there and they cost next to nothing. And I must say this has been the most fun project I’ve done in a little while. I guess I thoroughly enjoy the over the top-ness about it. It’s kind of ok to space out completely.
I made a more sober wreath a few years back. I kind of like them both. But this year the baubles are a clear winner for me.
